Through years of study and exploration, the college has found a new way to create a new harmonious college environment by integrating university-industry cooperation, combining academic study with social work and jointly implementing university-industry cooperation research and study.

On the morning of June 12th, the college held “Signing Ceremony and Announcing the Establishment of the Base of Social Work Practice in Tianshi University College”. Present at the ceremony are Tian Jingfeng, Director of the Ministry of Education Curriculum Center, Ye Qing, Director of Tianjin Higher Vocational Education Committee, Wang Yu, Deputy Director, Mr. Zhang Xiaodian, Director of Human Resources of the Tianshi Group, Professor Sun Ming, President of the college, Professor Liu Zhiming, Vice-President of the college, Li Yangwei, Assistant President, as well as the representatives of the outstanding graduates of 2007.

At the meeting, Professor Sun Ming delivered an important speech. He said altogether there were 565 graduates in 2007, among whom 108 had participated in the internship in the Tianshi Group, totaling 20%. It is known to all that the students who enter Tianshi University College with low scores. However, the college has actively explored a new way to integrate academic study and social work, realized “Eight Shares” with the Tianshi Group and persisted in the idea that enterprise is the main body and the college is the leading factor. The higher vocational education system of “concept, teaching, teaching staff, student training patterns” has been formed. After three years’ pertinent training, the employment situation of our graduates is commonly optimistic with an employment rates above 95% in the past three years.

Zhang Xiaodian, Director of Human Resources in Tianshi Group indicated that in 2007, there were altogether 108 graduates who did social work practice in various departments of the Tianshi Group, such as the Global Finance Center, Global Logistics Center, Banner stores, Legal Auditing Center. Based on their practice, Zhang Xiaodian gave them high praises of their performances. He pointed out that being a transnational enterprise, Tianshi Group has branch companies in 105 countries, which provides a considerable room for future development. That means the demand for employees is also of great potentiality. He hoped that in the future there would be more deep and multiform cooperations like “international intensive accounting class” and “the international direct sale class”.

Then, Zhang Xiaodian issued the appointment letters to the representatives of outstanding graduates.

With the letter of appointment in hand, a graduate said excitedly that in the college entrance examination three years ago, but he couldn’t image how he could have succeeded so much, with the help of the teachers and concern of the schoolmates during the three years’ study in the Tianshi University College. After the six-month social practice, he found that what he have got from the college can never be given by any other place”.

 Wang Yu, Deputy Director of Tianjin Higher Vocational Education Committee and Zhang Xiaodian, Director of Human Resources Department of the Tianshi Group uncovered the Plague at the Singning Ceremony. This ceremony was only the start of the “Eight Shares” (concept, information, teaching staff, equipment, scientific research, base, culture and international resources) between the Tianshi Group and the Tianshi University College. It is believed that the cooperation will be fruitful in the near future.

At the meeting, Ye Qing，Director of Higher Vocational Education of Tianjin Education Committee, made a summary speech, in which he fully affirmed the exploration and practice of the college. He expressed that it was the source and lifeline for the college to combine work with study and run the college integratively. The larger the scale is, the closer the relationship will be; the more prominent the benefit would be and the more solid the steps will stride. Therefore, it is the only way for develop the vocational colleges to cooperate with industry. He pointed out that in recent years under the premise of market oriented employment, it is an effective way to strengthen the cooperation with enterprises, develop the human resources and realize the mutually benefits.  Besides, it is also a beneficial attempt and exploration that vocational colleges initiatively adapt themselves to market demands, enlarge employment channels and run a multiplex school. Ye Qing believes that cooperation would be more successful. He also wishes the graduates could realize their dreams on their career development.
