Recently, the college held a meeting to sum up the First Students’ Parents Meeting. President of the college---Professor Sun Ming presided over the meeting. Many leaders from various department, Students’ Office, General Affairs Office as well as leaders of the departments related attended the meeting.

At the meeting, first of all, Director of the Students’ Office, Xu Sunhua made a conclusion of the achievements and problems of the meeting. He announced the attendance rate of each department. He praised the Foreign Languages Department for it’s the highest attendance rate of the grade 2006 with the joint effort of teachers and students. The Deputy Dean of each department reported the situation of arrangement and execution respectively. The general content is as follows:

1. Every department held mobilizing meetings several times according to the college requirements. The Dean of each department controlled the work directly. Every one had his own work and responsibility. For instance, teachers of Economic Management Department made the chairs clean and tidy in order to make a good impression on the parents of the students.

2. The instructors and form teachers of each class made great effort on it. They used many ways to invite the parents of the students to come to attend the meeting. Besides sending out the invitation letters, they also telephoned one by one. Especially, the instructors and form teachers of the Foreign Languages Department even mobilizated the students in class. They expounded the purpose and significance of the meeting to the students. With their joint effort, many students’ parents who come from other cities attended the meeting punctually. It was not only keeping the attendance rate but also exerted influence or the college.

3. Making the tenet clearly, unifying the action. All of the departments held meetings for the instructors and form teachers respectively. Make everyone clear about the general requirement of the meeting, and try this best to encourage and praise the students instead of pointing out their shortcomings. For instance, The Computer Science Department held the training meeting for the instructors and form teachers, required them to be responsible for personal affairs.

4. According to the interest of the students’ parents, making full preparation for the meeting. Every department organized different kinds of symposia concerning the topics that parents interested in. The Art Design Department organized the parents to visit the students’ drawing room. The students’ parents appreciated the students’ works. They said, “It is incredible that our children has made such great progress. We are so grateful to the college!” The parents expressed  the hope that “ we are so content of what our children have learnt in Tianshi College.”

At the meeting, every department reported the statistic result of the questionnaires and the feedback from the students’ parents. The conclusion is as follows:

1. It is very timely and necessary to hold such a meeting. The parents asked for holding this kind of meeting regularly. They thought this meeting was very meaningful. It made them have a better understanding of their children as well as enlarged the reputation of the college. It constructed the mode of trinity ---family, college and society--- three-in-one combination.

2. They all appreciated the view of orientation of college from Professor Sun Ming, it is very exact and concret. After the rerecognization of the college, the students’ parents were full of confidence.

3. The statistics of the questionnaires showed that there were about 77% parents supported the semi-miniaturization management. They hoped college could go on carrying out and strengthening it.

At the meeting, Professor Sun Ming made the conclusion. He expressed, it is a special examination for every teacher and clerk of the college tested by the society. We have got very good marks in this examination. It was based on the diligence and joint effort of everyone. We will hold this kind of meeting regularly in future. Try to make the meeting become the main channel of the communication between the college and the society. Every department should make every effort constantly to be responsible for the society.
