A faculty meeting was held in the Tianshi University College (TUC) on Mar16, 2007, where the work of the previous year was systematically summarized and an over-all disposition of the work for 2007 was made. Sun Ming, President of the TUC, delivered an important speech on the meeting. Liu Zhiming, vice President of the TUC, presided over the meeting. Li Yangwei, President’s Assistant and Director of President’s Office, along with other teaching and administrative staff of the TUC, attended the meeting.

In the first place, President Sun stressed that all the departments should earnestly study and carry through the No.25 Order issued lately by The Ministry of Education and Order 17 by The Tianjin Education Committee, meanwhile all the school work should be directed by the spirit of these two documents. On behalf of the leading group of the TUC ，all the Party members and the teaching and administrative staff, President Sun expressed the determination of consistently advocating and thoroughly carrying out the spirit of the documents issued by the central government and the Ministry of Education. Mr. Sun was fully convinced by the two orders,which would play a key role in the development of the TUC.

On the meeting, President Sun systematically summarized the work of 2006 from twelve aspects including:

1. Teaching quality of TUC has improved significantly;

2. School orientation has become clear; the guiding principle for the school is integrated;

3. School brand construction accelerated: internationalization and integration had become two brands for the TUC;

4. A “three-in-one” department school-running system has been established; department entity was initially founded; the work of professional certificate is strengthened;

5. Foreign language teaching reform forum was held successfully; foreign language teaching reform has been making good progress ;

6. Culture construction is strengthened. The foundation of TUC culture is initiated;

7. Specific student work is taking shape. Semi-militarization management is working effectively for the freshmen. The rule of “ten prohibitions” has been carried out thoroughly;

8. Teaching and administrative structure must be further rationalized;

9. Student’s employment work has made a breakthrough;

10. Web construction has become mature. We has speeded up the construction of network. English webpage is made to tone up its function of propagandizing;

11. A new library had its trial operation whose service function has grown notably;

12. Logistic socialization reform is being accelerated.

On the meeting, President Sun made an overall disposition for the work in 2007 from three aspects including guiding principles, key tasks, and measures. Prof. Sun pointed out that guiding principles for 2007 is: to lay emphasis on the evaluation work; to thoroughly carry through the guidelines; to build a unique pattern, and to speed up development. The key of the task is: to promote development taking the chance of evaluation and bring every task to a new level; to make breakthrough in international cooperation of school-running, integrate school-running, enrollment, and culture construction. Prof. Sun placed special emphasis on measures for each task, where strong coordination, interaction, integration and supervision is to be formed. He stressed that all staff members should carry forward the spirit of Tianjin female volleyball team and strive for great performances in 2007.

Finally, the college leaders of the TUC granted certificates of Computer Software Checker (techinical level) to the successful candidates.
